in this project we studied Shakespeare and then made a shadow puppet show of a midsummer night dream.
I did all the editing for the soundtrack for the puppets. I didn’t like the project very much, but I liked recording everyone. Once we were recording, I didn’t necessarily have to do much Shakespeare myself, just cutting out the screw-ups from everyone else. It was kinda funny when people screwed up a line and listening to it over and over again. The best moments were the funny parts when everyone was having a hard time saying their lines. Ben and I signed up for a bunch of things, we weren’t sure what we wanted to do. Flynn signed up for editing and he wanted help from us because it was a lot of work.
Editing through all the recordings was challenging because when we were recording would just keep recording even when people screwed up. So there were 20-minute hour recordings that we had to cut down to 5 to 10 minutes for the play. We ended up not using all of our time very effectively then we had to do a lot of the work the last week before the exhibition.
During this project, I grew by learning the importance of time management. while I was editing the soundtrack I ended up wasting a lot of time by getting off task. I managed to pull everything together right before the exhibition but it could have been a lot better. I will remember this for future projects so that I use more of my time effectively and have a better project for the exhibition.
I think people still like Shakespeare because even though it was written 400 years ago a lot of the topics that Shakespeare covers are still relevant.
